Glitter-fly !!!!

Ok I have to confess, I'm totally totally in love with bling these days. They give such an effect to the card that its becoming so hard for me to resist them. The card which I made today is a CASEd one, got inspired by Ujjwal's Card and its all glittery & blingy. I tried a butterfly for the first time and totally loved it. Its a birthday card that I made for my niece. And I'm so sure she's gonna love it. The color combo is again Red and brown (I'm in love with this too but will not repeat it for next few cards).

The butterfly is a digi image that I found online, printed it and then used Pie Lane Pixie dust glitter to cover it. If you look closely you'll notice the glitter balls as well but the look lost in all that glitter. They sure are visible when you look at the card personally. The lower portion of the card is pink handmade paper embossed with cuttlebug. I inked the embossing folder before embossing so this effect. Later I blinged it up all :) Here are a few more pics.

The inside of the card is punched and jazzed up. However I did not add any sentiment because I didn't feel like. I wish I could show the card in person, I'm so excited about my niece's reaction. Hope you all will like it as well.

hugs :)

Anniversary!!

Hey I'm back again with the anniversary card this time :) I did it in black and red (my fav colour combination). My friend is arriving from US and we're gonna meet after a gap of around 5 years. Its also her anniversary this month so I decided to surprise her with a card when we meet. Luckily she's not a follower of my blog so she won't be seeing the card. I used a similar pattern as that of the birthday card in my earlier post. Just replaced the handmade flower with two quilled hearts. The hearts have glitter on them which I got recently from Pie Lane. The red ribbon was too plain so added a few stones.

Totally forgot about the inside of the card. This time I did it up too. Have a look :)

Hope you like it.

Birthdays !!

Heylo dearies :)
Hope you all are in good spirits. November brings so many birthdays and anniversaries in my family and friends. There are three birthdays coming up, one following the other. This post is dedicated to to the birthday cards that I made yesterday. Here they are:

The flowers are handmade. I used pattern paper from Papermania. I made this card initially in brown and red, and then decided to play with different colours, but didn't have much choice as the paper was only in brown and green. The cards have a little bit of stamping too. I stamped cardstock with same colour inks and jazzed up the pattern paper with rhinestones. The sentiment is stamped with StazOn Dye ink. I simply love the brown and red and I have been wanting to make with this combo for a long time. Here are a few close-ups of the cards. Hope you like them all. Up in the next post is an anniversary card with the similar pattern as these.

hugs :)

Quilled Window Card

Its been almost a month since I've been MIA from blogosphere. Some commitments at home and the festive season caught on me. But I did steal time to make a few cards, just couldn't post them here. So here we go with the first one. This one's a quilled card. Actually I CASE-d this card. I just loved this window card with quilled roses so decided to CASE this. I cut the strips for quilling myself and rolled them into roses. I love this color combination but haven't had luck till now to use it on a card. The window is squarish pieces cut out from white card stock. It actually doesn't show in pictures but they have a little shimmer on them. Here's the card. The card looks more gorgeous than the pics. So many details get missing while shooting.

A little close-up:
I'll try to click better pics next time. Hope you'll enjoy the card. I'm sending this card to the following challenges:
Dream valley Challenges (Challenge 19) - Anything Goes
By the Cute and Girly Challenge - Anything Goes
I'll post about other cards soon. Till then happy crafting :)

Rainbow and Cloud :)

Heylo and a big thanks too all you wonderful people who have been kind enough to stop by and appreciate my work :) This card is specially for all my wonderful blogging friends and my better-half (Well he's the inspiration of all my cards).

I wanted to make a rainbow card for long time and got a chance with this one. I was actually inspired by erum's card. You can have a look at it here. The rainbow is a digi. I don't seem to remember where I got it from. The blue background and the clouds below rainbow are coloured using Versamark Brilliance pearlascent sky blue (ohh! I love every colour in brilliance range by versamark). I coloured the rainbow with memento markers. Oh yes I used a blue pearly gel pen to colour the dots in the clouds, I also used these pens for rainbow. The card looks much more better than the sorry pic. The background actually shimmers and looks gorgeous and so does the rainbow.
I tried my hand at a background of clouds for the first in this card. It didn't really come out the way I wanted but I was still happy. Better luck next time. E.T. if you happen to see this please note that I'm eagerly waiting for your tut on creating clouds :)
Enjoy the card and have a wonderful weekend !!

ICR Challenge 10

Hello dearies :)

I'm back with another card. This one's for ICR Challenge 10. I'm a bit nervous as I'm participating in this challenge for the first time :)
This is a simple card and the princess dress is the highlight. The dress is a digi, printed on cardstock and cut. I didn't have either felt or fabric for the embellishment. So had to come up with an idea the requirements. So the best thing that I came up with was to use twine. I always wanted to do this color combo. I just love this shade of blue. The flowers and the lace design was all punched out. I then used memento dye ink and versamark dazzle to color the lace.

It was actually white. I used dazzle to give a glitter effect to the lace and same was done with the flowers. What can I say of the rhinestones they are my favs :) I used them to give the dress a royal look. The pics did not come out that great and the card a little tad but actually its much more lively. I didn't have the stamps for the sentiment so wrote it myself. Please ignore my writing, I know its bad :(

Here's a close up of the dress

Apple of my Eyes!!!

Hey buds,

I'm back with a card. I actually made 2 more cards earlier but can't post them as of now. I want the lovely people to see them first for whom I made those cards. So back to this one.
My hubby's crazy about Apple (I mean the Apple Inc products) and so am I now. So this one's specially for him. I have this paper which matches so much with the earlier Apple logo. So I chose this as the background, punched the black strip with fiskar border punch and inked it using Versamark dazzle champagne ink. If you look closely it has a glittery effect to it. I used it on the two earlier cards as well and it made the cards sparkle without glitter. Simply love it. A close up of the border:
It has no sentiments, didn't feel like putting up anything beside that Apple as I wanted that to be the highlight of the card. I added the twine as the card came out very simple so just wanted to jazz it up. Here's the close-up of the Apple.
The Apple and the leaf is hand drawn and cut in different color papers red and green then ran the glue runner generously on it and placed the rhinestones using a plucker. It took me about 30 mins to complete the Apple. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Smiles :)

Bound with Love!!!!

Ever since I started making cards and small little things I have never made one for my hubby dearest. He has always admired my cards that I've made for others. So I decided to make him a card too. But it was neither his birthday nor any other occasion, but then you don't need a day to express your love. So made him this love card embellished with the heart pearls and red twine. He gave me the best compliment till date for this card. He simply asked "Where did you purchased it from?" and that made my day :)

The card stock is local purchased it from my stationer, but its very sturdy. The red patterned paper is from Papermania, cut using wave cutter of my paper trimmer. The sentiment over it is hand written. The heart are little 3 mm pearls and the hearts are hand drawn and cut. I used silver pen to outline the hearts and the patterned paper. For the hearts I created a mesh design using scale and pencil and marked the points. Then glued the hearts one by one. It took me about one and a half hours to complete this. I put in a lot of effort for this one but seriously it was all worth it in the end.

Happy Birthdays

The month of June had birthdays of my two very special people. My sisters :) These are the two card I made for them. I used Papermania Christmas paper collection to make the first card. Since christmas was so far away and I so wanted to use the papers I created this card using christmas balls as ballons :) I made this card for my little sis

The other card was a liitle sober since it was for my didi. The papers used were from itsy bitsy and again papermania oriental collection. Although very simple it came out real nice and I really love the little embossed flowers.

But I just didn't find matching birthday words and so wrote it by hand using a glitter pen. Never mind I'm still learning and the road is long !!!!

Cheers,

When I started quilling, I got myself a quilling kit. It had an instruction book, and all the material to make those quilled pieces. This little small paper bag is one of those. I loved it and it has been my fav. I’m planning to make small cards and stack them inside this little bag.

Nice gift that would make :)

Little Brown Box

Few weeks back I ordered something online and it arrived in this box. I was initially going to throw it, but then decided otherwise and decorated it to use it as storage box for my crafts supplies :)

Monday, April 25, 2011

Here I start......

I'm kinda lazy blogger. Although I do have to time to write little somethings about my new hobby "Quilling" laziness keeps me off from doing it. So today fighting away the laziness ;) I'm posting my first blog. This work is something I did about 2 weeks back. The idea is not completely my own. I borrowed the design from Bela's Blog. You can visit it here.

I wanted to quill a Ganesha as my first project and so searched the internet for a design that could be made using quilling easily. I stumbled upon Bela's Quilled Ganesha and liked the design so much that I decided to make one for myself.

It came out quite neat. It adorns my work desk now :) Hope you'll like it as well. I'll soon make one with my own imagination. Here's a pic of it.

Thanks for dropping by and thanks to Bela for sharing the design.

Smiles :)
